My name is Criselda Brooks and I'm an author as well as a certified astrologer and Associate Certified Life Coach.
I developed a passion for astrology from the moment I heard the word "Scorpio". Since then, I've learned how to use my knowledge of the stars to offer guidance and insight, helping others navigate their personal journeys.
I earned a master’s degree in Sociology and dedicated 10 years to the field of social services. I worked with children in therapeutic foster care where I witnessed the transformative power of finding a "forever" home. I also worked as a supervisor for court-appointed volunteers who represented the children’s best interests in family court.
In 2016, I caught the entrepreneurial spirit and started my own business. Even though I've enjoyed landscape design, I want to make a bigger difference in the world. I've taken the first steps towards that goal by becoming a certified life coach to further expand my ability to support others on their paths to self-discovery, empowerment, and healing.
During my free time, I can be found reading, writing, playing saxophone, working on my own personal and spiritual growth, or just staring up at the stars!
My writing journey began in the 4th grade when I started writing competitively for the school’s UIL team. During those competitions, we’d be given a random topic and had 1 hour to write about it. Winning awards for my writing skills at a young age inspired a love for creatively telling stories. As a teen, I worked on the high school newspaper and yearbook and took part in newspaper writing and journalism competitions.
My senior year in high school, I had a difficult time deciding on a major. I still loved writing, but I wanted to know what made people tick. In April of 1999 (1 month before graduation), the infamous Colombine High School shooting occurred. Feeling the sheer horror of the students that were inside the school that day, I decided to major in psychology with the hopes of making a difference in the lives of others. In the back of my mind, I knew that one day, I'd have an amazing story to tell and when the time came, I'd tell it.
After several years of formal education and life experience, I’ve found my way back to writing. My mission hasn’t changed; I still want to make a difference in the world and help people heal. I’m just going to write it down and pass it around so that I can reach more people in need.
